Panama marine fuel sales volume climbs by 3.4% on year in September 2021

Marine fuel sales at Panama gained by about 3.4% on year in September 2021, according to the latest data from La Autoridad Maritima de Panama, also known as the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA).

Total bunker sales at Panama was 388,027 metric tonnes (mt) in September, compared to sales of 375,126 mt during the similar period in 2020.

In September 2021, the Pacific side of Panama posted bunker sales of 326,225 mt; 231,357 mt of VLSFO, 64,644 mt of RMG 380, 8,067 mt of marine gas oil (MGO), and 22,157 mt of low sulphur marine gas oil (LSMGO) were delivered.

The similar region saw total marine fuel sales of 316,484 mt a year before in September; with VLSFO sales of 235,899 mt, RMG sales of 51,880 mt, MGO sales of 8,954, and 19,751 mt of LSMGO being sold.

Panama’s Atlantic side, meanwhile, recorded sales of 61,802 mt during September 2021; 52,011 mt of VLSFO, 2,081 mt of RMG 380, 2,610 mt of MGO, and 5,100mt of LSMGO.

It saw total sales of 58,642 mt in the similar period a year before; with VLSFO sales of 45,011 mt, RMG 380 sales of 5,188 mt, MGO recorded no sales and LSMGO sales of 8,443 mt.
