VPS Decarbonisation to kickstart summer campaign to reduce shipping emissions

VPS Decarbonisation on Tuesday (20 June) said it will be launching a summer campaign to reduce shipping emissions as much as possible.

The campaign will start on 1 July for a span of two months. 

Linda Stuberg, Key Account Manager, VPS Decarbonisation, in a video, said some of the world’s leading offshore vessel owners are participating in the campaign including Solstad Offshore ASA, Simon Møkster Shipping AS, Boskalis Offshore Energy, Rem Offshore, Tidewater, Skansi Offshore, North Sea Shipping, and DOF.

“At the end, we will crown the top performing vessels. And the best thing about this, is that it allows the shipping industry to show what is possible if we only work together,” she added.

Throughout the campaign, VPS Decarbonisation will monitor the progress and applaud the efforts by each vessel. 

“At the end of the campaign, to much fanfare, we will publish the participating vessels that have achieved the greatest emission reductions. All in the spirit of showing what is possible when we work together as an industry towards more sustainable operations,” it said. 

VPS Decarbonisation develops a suite of emission-reducing softwares and executes advisory projects for reducing fuel consumption and emission footprints.
