Singapore: Construction starts for 12,000 cbm LNG bunkering vessel

Several stakeholders witnessed the start of construction for a 12,000 cubic metre (m3) capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker tanker at the Sembcorp Marine Tuas Boulevard Yard on Monday (30 September) morning.

The LNG bunkering tanker, owned by Indah Singa Maritime Pte Ltd (a subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL)), will be co-operated by Sinanju Tankers Holdings Pte Ltd and Mitsui OSK Lines Ltd.

The vessel will be chartered by Pavilion Gas Pte Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Pavilion Energy, when delivered in 2021; it will be co-shared with Total Marine Fuels Global Solutions.

Pavilion Energy is one of two licensed suppliers of LNG bunker fuels in Singapore port.

The LNG bunker tanker, which will be the largest set for use at the Port of Singapore for ship-to-ship LNG bunker deliveries, features a 12,000 m3 GTT Mark III Flex membrane from engineering firm GTT (Gaztransport & Technigaz).
